From Research to Action: 2nd Swiss Conference Underscores Urgency of Cross-Border Integration, Public Trust, and Scalable Renewables

On 22 May 2025, more than 100 participants gathered in Bern for the 2nd Swiss Conference on Decentralised Energy, organised by the SWEET EDGE consortium. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, energy practitioners, and civil society representatives to explore how decentralised solutions can support Switzerland’s transition to a more secure, sustainable, affordable, and climate-friendly energy system.

The conference showcased the unique role of SWEET EDGE in supporting evidence-based policymaking through interdisciplinary research. The discussions reaffirmed the importance of co-creation and open dialogue in shaping energy strategies that are both innovative and grounded in real-world needs.

We thank all speakers, participants, and partners who contributed to the success of the event. Your insights and engagement are helping shape Switzerland’s energy future.
