The EDGE Renewable Energy Outlook (REO) was presented to municipalities at the GREE meeting

In order to build connections and discuss energy, the GREE invited representatives from several French-speaking Swiss municipalities involved in wind energy projects to a meeting. The meeting was held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in the early afternoon at the Veytaux hydroelectric power plant, operated by Forces Motrices Hongrin-Léman SA. On the agenda: the presentation of a study on the potential of renewable energies in Switzerland and a tour of the gigantic hydraulic installations of the power plant.

EDGE co-leader Professor Evelina Trutnevyte from the University of Geneva presented the results of the study Renewable Energy Outlook for Switzerland. This work, conducted jointly by the University of Geneva, EPFL, ETH Zurich, and the University of Bern, demonstrated that the goals of the new electricity law, passed in June 2024, are achievable.
